The show consists of six artists, four of whose work Snyder has been following for several years and two who are recent graduate students of hers from the School of Visual Arts. None of the artists have had a one person show in New York City. Smack MellonÕs vast space allows each artist to show a substantial body of work, even while being part of a group exhibit. Snyder, a distinguished painter herself, has said that she always wanted to curate a show of younger artists whose work she feels passionately about and who are just ripe for a major show. Smack Mellon has afforded her this opportunity.
