Shobun Baile is an artist working with film, installation, sculpture, and writing. His work follows the movement of materials, images, and systems across technologies and terrains, focusing on how translation between the material and immaterial reshapes how space is organized and experienced. Recent exhibitions include Kunstmuseum Bonn (DE), Para Site (Hong Kong), and Salzburger Kunstverein (AT). He has received residencies and fellowships from Alserkal Arts Foundation (Dubai), Tokyo Arts and Space, MacDowell (US), Core Program at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (US), Muzeum Susch (Switzerland), Storm King Art Center (New York), and SOMA (Mexico City). He studied at the Städelschule, Frankfurt, holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University, and was a 2023-2024 Studio Fellow in the Whitney Independent Study Program. He currently teaches at New York University.
