A heartfelt THANK YOU to those who joined and supported our ARTISTS FIRST party in celebration of Smack Mellon’s 30th!

If you have not yet had a chance, please consider a donation to ensure our next 30 years in support of emerging and underrepresented artists. We could not do this work without the support of our community.

Join us on Thursday, May 29 for a party to launch a year-long celebration of Smack Mellon’s 30th anniversary!

Founded by a group of artists in 1995, Smack Mellon is celebrating thirty years of putting ARTISTS FIRST by honoring our core community–without whom we wouldn’t exist. Raise a glass to all the artists who have come through our doors: those who have worked with us, who have launched their careers through us, and who have been our biggest champions over the years.

The event will feature Drag Artist Essa Noche, who will perform live throughout the evening, and a special screening of the Barnstormer’s No Condition is Permanent from Smack Mellon’s archive. We will close out the night with karaoke in our back gallery, so come prepared with your best song!

Single-entry tickets are pay-what-you-can from $130 to $30,000 (in honor of our 30th). In addition, packages include multiple tickets and other benefits.

Screening of No Condition is Permanent

The evening will also feature a special screening from Smack Mellon’s archive of the project No Condition is Permanent by the Barnstormers. This recently unearthed video documents their rapidly changing, multi-layered painting installation on the floor of Smack Mellon’s gallery, created throughout the summer of 2001.
